Holiday Season on our doorstep

Holiday giving can be stressful but try to slow down, enjoy the search for your gifts and whatever your price point look for treasures that will be special and stand the test of time.  That’s what the gallery is so famous for!  Hand crafted gifts starting at $25 and gift wrapping is always complimentary…just give us some time to get it done for you.

I have just returned from a 2 week trip through some of my favourite west coast art haunts.  I found an amazing artist hiding out in Vancouver.  Vesna Yankovich makes beautiful baskets and jewelry on a loom, weaving copper.  Gorgeous!  Look for it on our website and if you live near by, be sure to drop into the gallery for a look.

It’s exciting to be part of the plans for the upcoming holidays.  Lots going on!  The energy and electricity in the air is exhilarating.  Beginning with an Art Trunk Show, the launch of our new, first ever gallery catalogue, Anna Razumovskya’s visit with us on the 20th November and Samir Sammoun on Dec. 11.  Wow, it’s going to be Christmas before we know it.

Have a great holiday season.  Drop in for some of my famous short bread and cider.  It’s a Christmas tradition in Oakville!

Get Outside!

Great weather week ahead in southern Ontario!  Not a bad day in the whole 7 day forecast.  Get outdoors.  Enjoy your outdoor experience in comfort.  Take a comfy throw outdoors for the evenings.  Cushy outdoor pillows stay fresh all season.  Keep trays and barwear close at hand with a bar trolley.  Get some music close by and invite friends for an informal evening.  Whatever you use indoors, look for the equal outdoors.  This is the fun season.  Enjoy!

Anna Razumovskaya and her husband Eugene joined us for dinner on Saturday evening.  Anna is so gracious.  Eugene is the perfect manager for her and of course her husband.  Anna has just completed a new series of paintings that are shipping to galleries in France in two weeks (so we will soon have the giclees on our website and in the gallery!).  Anna’s schedule is very full this year with appearances in the UK, France, the U.S. and of course here in the gallery.  Stay tuned.

Samir Sammoun was in town last Monday for a quick visit. Samir is always working on something new.  As one of the best impressionists of current times, his work has been well received in the gallery.  We are planning a new show with Samir this summer.  Another must attend event!

Art for your garden

Look into private gardens throughout the Orient and Europe and you will often find art that has been part of the family for generations. Personalizing your garden with art is still an evlovling practise in North America but more people are “getting it”.

“Getting it”?  Our outdoor space is as much a part of our living space today as our indoors.  With all the comforts available to enjoy your outdoors; lighting, music, great comfy furniture, it’s just a great way to unwind.  We all need that unwinding…today so much more so with all the pressures that are demanded of us each day.

Art bonds us to our space. Connects us in a special way like a big hug. It’s personal, it lives, it offers sanctuary, creates a space that calls us. “Life beats down and crushes the soul and art reminds you that you have one.” ~Stella Adler. Now isn’t that the truth!
